Cape Town based non-profit organisation Heart has initiated the idea, following research into similar concepts in the US and Europe which are highly successful.
Peter Shrimpton, CEO of Heart said: “Consumers worldwide are becoming increasingly conscious of the world’s social problems and are choosing to give back. We’re seeing rock concerts being organized around community work and parties are just another way to potentially increase consciousness and get people involved in awesome projects.”
‘Party with Heart’ is being brought to Cape Town by Heart in partnership with Hush Hush marketing and various venues. A ‘Party with Heart’ offers a great platform for guests to enjoy a unique experience and to give a little back with little effort. Expect drink promos, top DJs and musicians, give-aways, competitions, performing artists, merchandise, information and not forgetting, a great party!
The first venue to come on board and support the party is Karma Lounge in Camps Bay. Owner Andrew Lee Pratt was more than delighted to host such a party because he has always waited for a platform to give back where he can track the social impact. The first event ‘Heart at Karma’ in association with Hush Hush, is taking place on Friday 10th July, kicking off at 9pm.
Heart brings about social transformation by creating sustainable social enterprises i.e. market-based solutions to social problems that work long term. Heart has a distinctive portfolio of projects addressing a wide range of social and environmental challenges in South Africa. Heart’s solutions are business-oriented, boldly creative, resourceful and impact on the ground, where it matters most.
Heart events creates successful, meaningful events that help the projects flourish, raising much needed funds and providing vital marketing exposure. Funds will be generated through entrance fees in return for marketing and PR for the venue and partners. A Party with Heart will be hosted every two months in supporting venues.
