eSIMAS is born – measuring social impact

published: 14 July 2009 | number of views: 787

eSIMAS stands for Elementary Social Impact Assessment Scorecard. In a nutshell, this tool facilitates the measurement of social impact by quantifying the social contributions made by any entity in the social enterprise space. Anyone from NGO’s to NPO’s to smaller community interventions like feeding schemes can be measured using eSIMAS. Social value is often qualitative in nature and has to date been difficult to measure. This is where the benefit of eSIMAS can be seen.

eSIMAS would enable a researcher to:

1. assess and measure the impact of an entity of choice

2. establish and recommend means to maximise this impact

eSIMAS can also be combined with your typical due diligence analysis as an important tool for investors. With this tool, they’ll be able to evaluate the transition of their monies into literal and actual influence, at grassroots and elsewhere.

Using the eSIMAS tool, Heart is able to assist anyone looking to quantify their social impact and can advise on ways to maximise that impact.
