Erna Kengue Boussaga joined in January as our financial manager. She is currently doing her Masters in Cost Accounting at the Cape Peninsula University of Technology. This included an internship at Ernst&Young in Gabon. Yes, that’s right, she’s Gabonese, so there is lots of French floating around the office. Erna came to Cape Town to study in 2002 and appears to love it here. She joined us she says because she loved the community aspect of what we do and the diversity of the position.

Kate Clayton (B. Bus Science Hons Marketing) followed her heart to HoH, after realising that she wanted to give back more and in an effective way. She has 15 years of experience in brand and communications, much of it as a consultant working with many blue chip and start-up organisations. This included heading up Lowe Bell & Mann’s Cape Town office (now Meropa Communications) and for the past eight years in her own strategic planning consultancy with partners. She has always been involved in philanthropic work, through her consulting and  specifically through JDI, a platform that enables people to make a difference. Kate is married to artist-cum-banker James and they have two kids, Liam (five) and Rafferty (three).

LGT Venture Philanthropy Fellows: LGT Venture Philanthropy’s investment in HoH includes intellectual capital (know-how) and social capital (network), through a fellowship programme. The fellowship program was created for highly qualified candidates, able and willing to apply their know-how, working experience and competences to selected organizations. The good news is we’re getting three fellows and two have joined already: Jordan Kondi Kondi and Tom Kagerer.

Jordan Kondi Kondi has joined as our HR manager. Jordan has a Masters in HR from the Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT) and has been a skills development facilitator for three years. He hails from Gabon (so there‘s lots of French floating around the office), and came to Cape Town to study in 2003. Practical experience includes four years in administration at the General Commissioner for Immigration in Gabon, a year at the Cape Town City Council and a year as a mentor / tutor at CPUT. On a more personal note, Jordan will soon by tying the knot, so his expressive smile is especially wide right now.

Thomas Kagerer joins us from BMW in Munich. Tom, as he likes to be known, has a computer science degree and 10 years of experience at BMW, ranging from IT to operations and management consulting. He joined us because he wants to apply his knowledge / experience in scaling up an organisation in the social space. His first impressions of South Africa are beautiful people and scenery, great diversity, good work and life balance, and you need a car! His girlfriend Daniela will be visiting him three times in his year in South Africa, to keep an eye on him. For her it will be realising a childhood dream to visit South Africa.
