The "Doing it For Africa" Team DID IT!

published: 22 September 2008 | number of views: 1613

This compassionate adventure was run as yet another successful initiative- Love to Africa. The team travelled through 18 countries in their 30, 000 km trek, visiting and profiling over 60 NGOs, charitable organisations and developmental projects for the Love to Africa online database.

This information is now available to facilitate volunteer opportunities throughout Southern and East Africa. It further serves as a networking tool for both projects and social investors. The team also carried out CSI research on behalf of ENGEN so the company could gain a better understanding of the social issues at play in the countries or regions where they have operations.

Upon their arrival the guys were overwhelmed with joy and pride with their remarkable accomplishment. Now the real hard work begins as they struggle to get used to the idea of going their separate ways and being able to call four walls a home for more than a few days. Well done boys, you made us proud!

Back at head quarters our team has completed the Sub Saharan Research Report and presentations to management commissioned by ENGEN.
We would like to thank the company for choosing our organisation to perform the Sub Saharan CSI research programme on their behalf. We wish the company all the best in formalising and implementing a meaningful and successful Sub Saharan CSI strategy.

The Command Centre has also been a buzz with new faces as the follow up expedition is steadily taking shape. Team Africa is currently in the research and development phase of their long trek through West Africa. Watch this space!

Though it's the end of the road for the DIFA team, Love to Africa has just begun to soar!
