Chalking is an interactive communication tool that spreads an intended message to an unsuspecting public in a way that is unexpected, fresh and unconventional. It often sparks conversation and intrigue, and when it was recently done at St George’s Mall and the Clock Tower in the Waterfront, the results were no different.
The image of a man in a suit with a globe as his head, walking a tight rope symolised the fact that the high powered people making decisions regarding the future of climate change should consider the world in every step that they take when making decisions on climate change.
This activation was done by Urban Guerilla for Consider Us, an organisation that seeks to ensure that the decision makers of today consider the children who will be around tomorrow.

The chalking sparked plenty of interest with many people pausing to ask questions. Some of them were inspired to get involved and so grabbed their own chalk and started drawing what came to mind when they thought of climate change.

The event not only introduced the public to Consider Us but it also got hundreds of people thinking about climate change and the role that they have to play in the future of the earth.

Spectator feedback was very positive, and appreciative of this unique and entertaining effort to highlight climate change, with many asking when
the next activation will occur!
A special thanks to the five artists that lent us their creative talent, as well as to Zoom Advertising and City Varsity.
