Heart has changed its name from The Heart of Healing to Heart, in order to reflect its evolution as a business. At inception five years ago, Heart was involved in hospital work – hence the ‘Healing’ connotation. Today, heart works across a number of social and environmental challenges and needed a name that is more versatile and which has greater marketing potential.

The Auction with Heart, in aid of Heart’s flagship social enterprise – Wines with Heart, was held at the stunning beach side venue, Summerville Restaurant in Camps Bay last Thursday 2nd April.

For residents of Gympie Street, Woodstock, life is not as promising as it is to many of us. The community in this down-trodden area faces severe issues like starvation, poverty, gangsterism and drugs on a daily basis. As this street is notorious for being the epicenter of crime in Woodstock and Cape Town, many people are reluctant to give any kind of assistance in an area like this.

As part of our capacity building phase, many new faces have joined and we will continue to bolster our ranks: Erna Kengue Boussaga as Financial Manager, Kate Clayton as Marketing Manager, Jordan Kondi kondi as HR Manager and Thomas Kagerer as Chief Project Manager.

The year started with a bang as our flagship FoodTent enterprise erected five food tents at previously disadvantaged schools in the Western Cape.
